When you are living on a budget and trying to cut costs, lowering your monthly bills is definitely one of the first things that comes to most of our minds. We try to figure out how we can spend less money on food, how we can cut transportation costs, and how we can make our utility bills lower.

Everyone would like to have a lower electric bill. Here are a few things you could do to try and cut down on the amount of electricity you use, and therefore make your bill more manageable.

Turn out your lights when you are not using them. Make sure that when you leave the house, you leave on the minimum number of lights necessary. You may need to leave on one or two for safety reasons, to make the house look occupied or to be able to see when you get home. But you do not need to leave all of the lights in the house on.

Set your computer to an energy-saving mode. All computers can be adjusted so that they go into sleep mode when they are not used for a certain amount of time. This will allow you to save energy without having to re-boot your computer each time you want to use it.

Unplug your cell-phone charger when it is not in use. Even if there is no phone attached, your charger is still using electricity if it is plugged in.

Install energy-saving light bulbs. They will help you to cut costs even when the lights are on.

If you have children, set limits on the number of electrical devices they may use at once. No one needs to have the television, the computer, and the radio all on at the same time.

These are a few of the ways that you can save energy and help lead your household toward a lower electric bill. This will contribute to your efforts to save money in all areas of your budget.

Energy Efficiency in the home is very important as you do not want to be paying for heat or cooling that is simply escaping out of your home or business and ultimately heating or cooling the neighborhood. Basically you always want to try your best to use less energy for the same amount of results you are currently accustomed to. One way to achieve this is by using the proper type and amount of insulation. Another example of this type of efficiency is using natural light instead of light bulbs to brighten the room.

Many new buildings are being constructed to be energy efficient and older buildings can be inspected to determine what can be done to make your home or business more efficient. Being energy efficient is the number one solution for stopping and reversing global warming. Of course using renewable energy sources instead of burning fossil fuels is the other solution.

The other important benefit of being truly energy efficient is that efficiency will significantly reduce your energy costs and allow you to retain monies that otherwise would be given to the utility companies. Keep in mind though that making your home or business truly efficient will require an investment on your part. The good news is that the investment usually comes with a strong ROI and the investment will likely be paid back after only a few short years. In addition to insulation and day lighting opportunities, look to higher efficiency equipment and appliances to help improve energy efficiency.

Most of today’s energy efficient appliances and equipment uses much less energy than the comparable older models. By using less power this reduces the amount of carbon dioxide emission released into the atmosphere during the electricity generation process. These appliances and equipment are given efficiency ratings and the Energy Star label. When the appliances or equipment are not in use they will either turn off or go into a low energy mode. So if your appliances or equipment are at the end of their useful life, consider replacing them with new, high efficiency models.

There are several things you can change in your home or business to make it more energy efficient. Another is to make sure your window seals are tight and not letting air in or out. Many times this may mean getting replacement windows or caulking the edges. You also may need to add double glazed windows or different insulation.

Again, there are many ways you can make your home and business energy efficient so go out a get it done!

One of the hottest topics at the moment regards our impact on the environment. As such, we are all looking at ways to cut back on the amount of energy we use. As with many things, this energy conservation begins at home. Here is a selection of top tips to help you cut down accordingly.

Two of the biggest wastes of energy in the home are inefficient use of heating and cooling systems so, as a first step, ensure these are well maintained. Secondly, try notching your thermostats down a degree or two; you shouldn’t feel the impact too much physically but you sure will financially. Also ensure your air conditioning unit has good airflow, and any obstructions are removed.

Household appliances are also big users of energy, notably washers and dryers. Ideally, washing should be line dried in the fresh air. This obviously is a big saver, but also adds certain freshness. If the dryer does have to be used however, try and do loads so that one load goes in as soon as another finishes. This helps to retain heat in the dryer and saves energy.

Another appliance that eats up energy is the refrigerator. There are not too many people that clean the rear of their refrigerators all too often but, if this is done weekly or at least monthly, dust will be kept to a minimum and the refrigerator will operate much more efficiently. Also, the seal around the doors should be checked often to ensure there are no leaks wasting energy.

Ovens and stoves should also be well maintained; dust, grease and grime reduce efficiency and vary the cooking temperatures produced dramatically. It is also worth having a thermometer to use in an oven to get the exact temperature, as LED displays are not always accurate. A side benefit of the thermometer is that you will likely find that your food cooks better.

These are only a few basic steps to help get you started with home energy conservation. Once started, you are sure to find many other areas you can cut back on or make more efficient. Not only are you helping to do your small bit for society, but your bank balance will look a whole lot better too.

There are plenty of things you can do to demonstrate better energy efficiency. Everyone knows the big ones such as recycle and turn off the lights. But there are other small things that can really add up. They may seem odd or like slight inconveniences, but the small magnitude of the inconvenience will completely disappear once it becomes a part of your regular schedule.

The first thing is to unplug all chargers when you are done with them. Many people have their cell phone, camera, or MP3 chargers in the same spot, always ready to go for convenience purposes as we are all always rushing out the door. However, leaving something just simply plugged in can drain electricity and at the same time serves no purpose.

Another thing would be to car pool or take public transportation. These are likewise inconveniences to many people, especially on days when they are running late. However, sticking to a schedule like this may actually make you more punctual and aware of your time. It also can be much cheaper for you. Your car will last longer and your petrol bill will go way down.

You should also start recycling the little bits of plastic you may not even realize can be recycled. For example, many people just throw away the plastic trays from TV dinners. This is hugely impractical, since they can be easily rinsed out and recycled.

Many people throw away lots of little bits of paper like sticky notes, or bits of plastic, like from a candy wrapper. This plastic is merely going to sit in a land fill. Why not put it to good use? These things all add up, so we need to be smart about them. If everyone merely took a step back and looked at what they were really wasting–and knew the life of an object after it was thrown away–people would save so much more in terms of recycling and reusing

Corporate strategies’ consulting is, in its truest essence, a dirty business. Few understand this tiny, yet elite genre of consulting and even fewer are masters of its concepts. The same principles applied by this select faction of specialist should be applied by CEO’s and company executives in all industries.

First and foremost, executives must understand the idea of power. There are certain unbreakable laws necessary for the ascension of professionals to positions of influence and power within an organization or industry. Here are a few of the concepts applied by serious corporate strategies consultants that are mandatory prerequisites for the rise and maintenance of power in the corporate world.

The individual seeking to take a position of power must possess the ability to customize and facilitate a turn-key solution to transform the fate of a crumbling company. They must have the ability to construct an infrastructure that perpetuates growth and stimulates longevity and stability. Power, in a corporate sense, is purely economic without excuses of any kind that is driven by greed, self assured stamina and the inability to accept anything but a number one position in their specific industry genre.

The ability of an individual to prompt a capable executive group to ‘die hard’ action and a no holds barred mentality is what will save a company from being a statistic. The unrelenting passion to win and the tactical action of this executive to strap the burdens of a company and its employees to his back and take responsibility for all that is to come, good and bad, to absorb the stress, anguish and deprivation of sleep due to mission focus are characteristics of a leader that will step into any company in any situation and deliver them from failure to profitability and growth.

This individual will assimilate into a battle while forcing the war to transfer its current to his terms. He can break through industrial and bureaucratic chaos and capture the essence of the obstacle and create multiple synergetic strategies to inject the corporate growth engine with rocket fuel. An executive primed for corporate power wears a velvet glove over an iron fist and is quiet and calm yet calculating in demeanor. He can step into negotiations composed and cool while simultaneously eying up the jugular of everyone in the room, scanning those present for weakness and chinks in their armor, preparing for psychological attack at the perfect time to press the mission of his agenda that much further adding security to his company.

This individual will not fall for the false lore of friendship from potential competition but will reciprocate like a gentleman to those initiating camaraderie while keeping them at arm’s length and will always release enough rope to allow those around him to hang themselves if it means strengthening his company and position in his industry. The executive who has achieved the art of power will be able to prick the underlying wound of his target to find weakness then step back and watch them self-destruct as it is easier to do this then verbally pointing out the individual on the executive team who is the weakest link.

Most professionals who have mastered the above find themselves in consulting positions and are hated by their client’s employees but loved by the shareholders. If you own a business or are in a senior position at a corporation, try applying some of these characteristics to your daily repertoire and watch the response of those around you. You’ll find that you will naturally fall into a position of power because of the strength that these characteristics hold in the psyche of those around you. You’ll become the problem solver and the ‘go to’ guy who has a reputation for being able to structure any situation so that your company lands on top. Get ready for rapid promotion, real leaders are hard to find and will usually take a bidding war to keep.

Whether you’re trying to raise debt or equity capital there are still certain unwritten rules that apply that cater to the mentality of today’s investor and funding community. Certainly there are scores of private placement memorandum and business plan chop shops that wouldn’t know how to properly consult with your company or write a fundable document even if they wanted to but they will gladly take your money to throw together a template and try to pass it off as custom work.

The issue is this, it’s not necessarily the consultant, though these fly-by-nights shoulder a large portion of the blame, but the client usually doesn’t even have the proper structure in place to attract a funding source even if they had the most incredible PPM and business ever to hit the venture capital marketplace. Here is a simple (very basic) way to evaluate your company to find out if you are properly structured to attract capital. Have a corporate meeting and ask yourselves the following questions: What type of corporate structure do you have and why did you choose that particular structure? Break down your executive infrastructure, where do your individual executives stand in your industry, do the unthinkable, Google everyone’s names; are the people running your company real industry players? Are all the basic positions accounted for (president, CFO, controller etc)? Next, look at your advisory board and board of directors. If by some miraculous act of God you actually have these two groups represented in your company, how did you qualify them? Sorry but if you have an attorney on your board because he’s, um…well, an attorney, that’s not good enough.

You need an industry specific legal guru who not only spells out the intricacies of your business genre’s regulation but they must also be actively qualifying potential strategic partnerships as alliances for your company. He should be reaching into his client base and actively picking companies that could enhance your company in distribution or in any other way that will have a profitable outcome for all involved. Each of the members must be serving a similar purpose.

Next, on what criteria are you basing your share price or loan amount? If you don’t have a clear cut ‘use of proceeds’ model, you need one. This and many, many other questions need to be asked before you are actually ready to raise capital and in all reality, until your corporate structure is in place you shouldn’t even attempt to write a business plan or a private placement memorandum. If you are serious about setting up your company to attract investors you need a turnaround consultant, you can’t do this on your own. There is an entire industry that centers around structuring companies for their first and ongoing capital raise.

Before you blackball your company by prematurely attempting to raise capital, the critical concepts you need to keep in mind are (precisely in this order): corporate structure, infrastructure, advisory board, board of directors, use of proceeds, business plan, private placement memorandum, investor finder, funding. Look at each aspect listed here as its own item, break it down and analyze every minute aspect of each element and look at everything objectively and eventually your company will evolve into a structure that is fundable and stabilized for years to come.

Do You Need Massive Investor Relations that will put your stock price through the roof? Call Princeton Corporate Solutions at 267-233-0183 Taking Your Company Public and Stock awareness was never so easy.
