New York Mets Projection
There are few doubts about the ability of the New York Mets this season, everyone all is in agreement when they say that the Mets this season are not going anywhere quick. There are several reasons as to why this team will be sitting around watching the playoffs from home.
The least of these is a just general sense of disorder. There are teams that play in Russia that at more organized than the Mets this season. While there are many people out there that say the team should just skip this season and try again next year, I say that the Mets are capable of making something out of this season. There will just need to be one thing in place, and that is talent.
The first area that the Mets need to do a through look at is the pitching situation. Last time there was a check the Mets are still without a leader in the pitching department that will be able to beat the other teams. There is a severe lack of a starting pitcher that will be able to overcome the deficit that is placed in front of him.
Now when the Mets are up to bat, what can you expect from them on that aspect, the answer is simple a lackluster performance from them the roster changes almost as much as the Yankees win a game, every time that I look there is a new roster that is introduced for a spring training game, this is a sign that the manager has no ideas as what to do about this problem. While there will be a lot of suffering when the Mets get up to the plate, this will not be the worse of the problems.
Now after the pitching has failed the next area to examine is the outfield. This is a problem as well as there are several places that the team will need to make sure that they are able to secure when it comes to stopping the runners from gaining more bases than they really should. There are several players that will be placed in the outfield to see which one is the best fit for the position. With a little luck, there is the hope that the team will be able to get all of the problems worked out by the end of the Spring Training games. This will be a vital area, if the bullpen fails to do their job.
The batting order is a little complicated to work out this season. One of the star players that should be in the line up, is on the sidelines while recovering from knee surgery that he chose to have in the off season. This is one of the big stories that keeps popping up as the beginning of the season approach.
If you are a fan of the Mets, then there will need to be a lot of prayers that will need to be said for the team, this will in the end lead to the team needing all of the help that they can get in the season. While there are those that are sure this will be the year of the Mets, there are those others that know the truth that this is not the year for the team to make their case for a World Series consideration.
