<p>The first thing to do is to exclude rice and all its varities from our diet. Rice in our meal does not digest properly and gets deposited in our stomach and blood vessel walls. This causes diabetes and blood cholestrol increase. An indian diet would have more of protein in the form of pulses and dals and less of rice. Also, rotis ought to become more frequent in our diets. A lot of indian dishes which use oil and butter should be eliminated from the diet. These contribute unhealthy fats to our digestive system that helps in the weight gain process.</p>
<p>It is necessary to include proteins in our diet. This is a little difficult if you follow a vegetarian indian diet. If eggs are part of your meal, include more of them in your diet. The reason losing weight is difficult is because over the hundreds of thousands of years that we as humans have evolved our brains tell us to eat high calories food. This is because your brain still thinks we live in a cave where food is scarce. In our modern world however, the opposite is true. We live in a world of cheap, high calorie food, and our bodies have evolved to tell us to eat it!</p>
<p>Scientists tell us that a recently discovered hormone is one of the main reasons why people feel hungry. It&#8217;s a hormone called &#8220;ghrelin&#8221; and was only discovered in 1999.</p>
<p>The walls of our stomach release this hormone where it then travels in the blood to the brain, where the brain detects it and tells our body we need to eat.</p>
<p>The interesting thing about ghrelin is that the stomach only releases it when the stomach is empty. It knows when our stomach is empty because the walls of the stomach are not stretched. If they are stretched (i.e. we are full) then the hormone is not released.</p>
<p>Right, so far nothing too taxing here &#8211; if the wall of the stomach is stretched we are full and the hormone is not released and therefore we don&#8217;t feel hungry, and vice versa.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s now look at a situation people find themselves in every day &#8211; lunchtime. You sit down and eat a ham sandwich and have a drink of water. This will keep you from feeling hungry for at least a hour or two.</p>
<p>Now, something interesting happens if you blend the water and the food (make soup). You will fill fuller for longer. But why is that? You&#8217;ve had the same amount of food&#8230;</p>
<p>The reason for this strange phenomenon is because of the way that your stomach handles water and food. When you drink water, this is passed through the stomach quite quickly, so it won&#8217;t fill you up very long. However, food is held back for longer so it can be digested. But, if you mix the water with the food the whole lot is held back &#8211; meaning a stretched stomach for longer, meaning no ghrelin is produced and therefore you feel full for longer!</p>
<p>This is a really simply way of tricking your body into thinking it&#8217;s eaten more than it actually has. Try eating soup every lunchtime and you will help stop those afternoon cravings!</p>

<p>Fat is most likely stored in the stomach, thighs and buttocks. And these are the most difficult parts to shape for any obese man or woman. You can diet all you want but it will have no effect.</p>
<p><strong>So the big question is How to reduce fat?</strong></p>
<p>For losing the fat in your body you only have to follow two strict rules.</p>
<p><strong>Work Out</strong><br />
Strengthen your muscles and do a lot of cardio exercises. This will convert all the flab in your body to tone it into shape. Also this will ensure you won’t get skinny. Also strength training increases your metabolic rate and hence encourages the body to reduce weight.</p>
<p>Add squats, sit ups and crunches to the regular cardio exercises. This will lay emphasis on specific body parts and help burn fat quickly. Preferably one should exercise for 30 minutes a day every day of the week. Or you may exercise for an hour three days a week.</p>
<p><strong>Eat The Right Calories</strong><br />
Eat only fresh food items and stay away from processed or tinned items. Simply buy raw food and cook it on your own. This will get rid of all the preservatives, fats and chemicals added and keep you healthy. Eat a lot of proteins, this will help build muscles and prevent flab. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits and stuff yourself with water. Also make sure you are not deficient of some necessary fat as this will have disastrous effects on your body.<br />
Drink lots of fresh juices and avoid soft drinks and alcohol. Alcohol adds more liquid fat to the belly and hence it must be strictly moderated. Also, avoid sugar or cream in the drinks.</p>
<p>Cut down on your carbohydrates and have them only after a work out session. Avoid white bread /rice etc and eat only brown carbohydrates. Also switch to whole wheat grains.<br />
Eat more frequently instead of heavy meals. Break down the standard three meals to smaller snacks in smaller time intervals. Never skip breakfast and fill it with carbohydrates. Eat every three hours.</p>

<p>Breakfast: eggs with tomatoes, Green tea</p>
<p>Snack: Tea /coffee</p>
<p>Lunch: Chicken (30 g), tomatoes, wheat/rice</p>

<p>The General Motors Diet is very difficult to follow in itself. It requires strict adherence to a single item throughout the day. For vegetarians, especially Indians, the diet is even more difficult as it requires giving up all the usual food items. Also the original diet was developed for non vegetarians with plenty of fish and meat. The vegetarian counterparts are not very well known.</p>
<p>This diet will lead to a loss of nearly 5- 6 kilo grams in one week. This diet can be repeated for any number of weeks with a gap of at least 3 days in between. On a full cycle, the entire body is cleansed of all toxins. The change in shape is very noticeable. Also the diet has effects on behavior. At the end of the diet, one’s attitude is improved. You are calmer and sharper. After successfully completing the diet you will feel very energetic and healthy.</p>
<p><strong>Here is The General Motors (GM) Diet for vegetarians,</strong></p>
<p><strong>Day One:</strong></p>
<p>You can eat an unlimited amount of fruits but bananas are prohibited. The recommended item is watermelon has this has the maximum water content.</p>
<p><strong>Day Two:</strong></p>
<p>Today you can eat an unlimited amount of vegetables. You can eat them raw or half cooked. But no salt or garnishing are allowed. Also avoid oils or coconut while cooking vegetables. You can simply eat a large boiled potato with a little salt.</p>
<p><strong>Day Three:</strong></p>
<p>An unlimited amount of fruits and vegetables can be eaten today. But bananas and potatoes are prohibited today.</p>
<p><strong>Day Four:</strong></p>
<p>Today you may eat only bananas and milk. The maximum limit is eight bananas and three glasses of milk. You can break your meals according to your wish.</p>
<p><strong>Day Five:</strong></p>
<p>Today you can eat one cup of rice, up to 6 tomatoes and drink at least 12 glasses of water. You may even cook the tomatoes with the rice, but avoid too much of oils.</p>
<p><strong>Day Six:</strong></p>
<p>Today you may feed on unlimited amount of vegetables. Also you may eat one cup of rice today.</p>
<p><strong>Day Seven:</strong></p>
<p>Today you can eat unlimited amount of fruits and vegetables. Also you may eat one cup of rice.</p>

One group was given all the food at once, while the other group was given the same amount of food, but spread out over the entire day. The mice that ate all at once stored almost all of it as fat, while the other group burned most of it as energy.</p>
<p>The strategy then is fairly straightforward. Just take whatever food you eating during a day, and spread it out. Avoid big meals, and try to have several smaller meals. Keep in mind that you don&#8217;t have worry about what you eat, just focus on when you eat.</p>
<p>What happens to most people when they do this is that they find themselves eating less and less. By eating more often, you are hungry a lot less, and less prone to overeat. Did I mention you can eat the same foods you already eat?</p>
<p>The other tip I&#8217;d like to give you is to do some simple, body weight exercises first thing in the morning. And I don&#8217;t mean a thousand push ups and a thousand sit ups. Maybe five of each is all you can do. No problem. The important thing is that you do something in the morning when you wake up. Even if it is only for a couple of minutes. This will train your body to start burning energy right from the moment you get out of bed.</p>

In this article I will offer you five piece of cake cooking tips which would get you up and running in no time!</p>
<p>1. You use stuffing for turkey, right, and probably you cook them along with the turkey! Okay, let me tell you an effective way to do the same thing but in a healthier way! When you cook your stuffing along with turkey, the whole food becomes very rich in calories. However, if you cook the stuffing separately, then you would be able to cut down on a lot of unnecessary calories!</p>
<p>2. Gravy is surely a vital part of meat. In fact I refuse to eat either chicken or turkey if I am not served sufficient gravy with it! But if you pass the gravy through a skimmer before serving it, your gravy would have fewer calories than otherwise!</p>
<p>3. Pecan pies might be tasty but it is not recommended for someone who is looking forward to losing some pounds during the holiday season, or rather keep their weight under control. Instead of pecan pies, why not try apple pies which are no less delicious and at the same time won&#8217;t make you fat! If you hate the taste of apple pies, you can always top them with low-fat or fat-free yogurt!</p>
<p>4. I make sure to keep track not only my own food intake but also that of my friends. Whenever they come to my house for snacking, I serve them pretzels and snacks which are low on fat. I prevent from serving chips and doodles as they are high on calories! Whenever I host a party, I make sure to have fresh fruits and vegetables available for party guests at all times!</p>
<p>As a matter of fact, most people hate eating raw vegetables, so I steam them and use lemon juice as well as several kinds of flavored herbs as toping before serving them! This much I can guarantee that if you ever attend any of my parties, you won&#8217;t gain any extra weight!</p>
<p>5. Sugar candies and sugary candied yams must be kept away, especially if you don&#8217;t want to end up with a huge fat belly at the end of the holiday season! I have found that potatoes, when eaten either in baked or roasted form, offer a much better and healthier option than those candies!</p>
<p>Bear in mind that it is a lot easier to put on extra weight than lose it. A little discretion on your part would ensure that you never put any unnecessary weight on yourself and always stay fit!</p>
